Purederm Rice Bran Collagen Mask review

After having some minor break outs due to the Mizon snail repair cream, I went to get the one thing I use when I am having some skin issues and that is the Purederm Rice Bran Collagen Mask. It was two years ago since I first bought the Purederm sheet masks in my 2nd Gmarket order and out the 6 pieces that I got, only two were left. You can see which kind of Purederm sheet masks I bought back then and what they are for in this post. Keep reading to see why I like this sheet mask so much.

The Purederm Rice Bran Collagen Mask comes in a glossy plastic packaging shaped like a bottle and on the right side, you can find a small triangle cut, where you can easily tear it open. I really like how easy it is to tear, since some packaging can be impossible to tear and requires you to get a pair of scissors, even though they have provided a small cut for you (with that, I mean some of the ramen condiment packages ^_^).

In the middle part, you can find "Rice bran collagen mask" printed in Korean, traditional Chinese, and Japanese. Underneath that, you can read the benefits of the mask.

The instructions are located at the back and I am very glad that it has English translations.

Applying the sheet mask on my face

The sheet mask has a sweet, collagen scent (rice bran is probably too hard to capture in a scent ^_^). Unfolding the mask was a bit difficult as the mask kept folding up at the cut parts and because the paper is very thin (you can see the color of your skin through it), you need to be a bit careful not to tear it. It also didn't have an extra plastic sheet underneath it that some masks do have. The eye holes are shaped as half a circle and the straight part of it covers my dark eye bags very well. The nose bridge part is a bit narrow (covers only a small part) and the eye holes stops very close to the outer part of my eyes. The nose part fits very nicely on my flat and short nose, but the mouth part is a bit too big. There are three cuts on each side of the mask and one cut on the chin, but I don't really see what they are for as the cuts are too short to really alter the shape of the mask and it made applying the mask more difficult.

After removing the sheet mask and letting the essence dry up, my skin feels instantly softer, but my face got a bit sticky. That's why I prefer to apply this mask right before I sleep. It is pretty similar to a sleeping mask that way. You can wash away the last bits of stickiness in the morning.

What it promises to do and my opinion on it:

Skin recovery
(bumps get less itchy and calms down)
Brightening
(not very visible)
Hydrating
(no dry spots the next day and I have very dry skin, but it also makes my skin a bit oily)
Softening
(it does make my skin softer, but only for a few days)
Age defying
(cannot really tell, but collagen is always good)
