Review: stila stay all day vinyl lip gloss - nude vinyl (sample)

This review of the stila stay all day vinyl lip gloss in the shade nude vinyl is my second lip product review of the items in the Sephora Favorites - Give Me More Lip set. The first review was of the benefit hydrating tinted lip balm - posiebalm and it was already one month ago. I am starting to like trying out a new lip product each month and using them until they are totally finished. It would be a bit boring to wear the same lip shade every day, so switching it up every now and then with some of my favorite lip products, it can last me about a month. If you are interested in a review of a particular lip product from the Sephora Favorites - Give Me More Lip set, please let me know in the comments. Otherwise, I will keep the order: nudes-pinks-reds-berries.

After the very light pink shade of the benefit posiebalm, I tried the stila stay all day vinyl lip gloss - nude vinyl and it is not the nude shade that I am used to. I am normally afraid to wear nude lip shades as it makes me look sickly, but this one has a very nice, warm undertone.

review: stila stay all day vinyl lip gloss - nude vinyl

The stila stay all day vinyl lip gloss - nude vinyl has a pigmented, dark pink color with a brown undertone that can be considered equal to that of a lip lacquer. Although it is relatively light lip shade, it covered my naturally pigmented lips very well. There are many small shimmers in the lip gloss, but you barely notice them on the lips. In certain lights, I think I can also see an orange glow (particularly visible in the full-face picture of me).

The applicator of the stila stay all day vinyl lip gloss - nude vinyl is a bit wider than normal doe foot applicators and super flexible. You can apply the lip gloss nicely on the lips with it. The consistency is a bit thick and hard to spread out, but you can easily get an even distribution on the lips.

The lip gloss has a sweet vanilla scent that doesn't linger too long and although I was warned for the stickiness of stila lip glosses, it wasn't as sticky as I imagined. If you don't move your lips, you don't notice any heavy feeling or stickiness. It does feel a little bit sticky when you do move your lips, but it makes it longer lasting. I wouldn't say that it lasts all day as the name suggests, but it did hold up without fading for several hours. It left a big stain on the rim of my mug when I wanted to drink some water, but the lip gloss on my lips surprisingly stayed intact. The lip color stayed pigmented and glossy, without any uneven patches. It even survived a noodle meal. There was still a thin coat of pink lip product left with a reasonable good coverage and nothing got smudged outside the lip lines.

What do I think?

The stila stay all day vinyl lip gloss - nude vinyl has a great color that is suitable for my skin tone and I can easily wear it on a daily basis. It can be a bit sticky, but I got used to that (or the lip gloss got less sticky/more watery over time). For a lip gloss, it is very moisturizing, glossy, pigmented, and long lasting. At the end of the day, the skin on my lips got softened so much that I could peel some off, which is the same effect that I got with the benefit posiebalm.

Note: I tried a sample (1.2 ml) of the stila stay all day vinyl lip gloss - nude vinyl.
