My favorite capes this winter from TKMaxx and Primark
I am a total homebody (but with an impulsive and adventurous streak), so you can almost always find me at home. I actually wished I was home schooled (although that would have actually been self-study all by myself), as I had a terrible time adjusting to the outside world, when I was a child. But that would mean that I wouldn't have met the rare nice people, who made me still have hope that life could be different. I sometimes wonder what kind of person I would be, if I didn't experience all those hardships. Would I be different or still the same? What is caused by the outside world and what is what I was born with? What I am sure of, is that no matter what, I would have been strange, unusual, or if you put it nicely, special and one of a kind. Although the rest of the world seems to think differently, there is nothing wrong with that. I have accepted that things are what they are and the only thing I can do is live my life in the best way that I can.
I feel I have a lot of catching up to do, after living a life carrying heavy responsibility and sorrow. So, if you feel like I am being really childish for my age every once in a while, it is because I have never been able to be a carefree child, who could play and joke around.
For starters, I just bought this cute cape from Primark (€14). It has the most adorable Thumper (bunny from the Disney film Bambi) hood. The right bunny ear goes up and the left bunny ear goes to the side. It is just so cute that I wonder what people would think if I opened the door wearing this, but since I decided to care less about what people think, why not?
The Thumper cape has cute, light pink pompoms on a string (purely decorative, as you cannot pull the string tighter) on both sides of the hood. Along the inside of the hood, there is also a pink ribbon with the word "Thumper" in repetition. The cape is short in the front and longer in the back. It also has wide sleeves and a pocket in the front to keep my hands warm. It is made of a very soft fabric, which I hope holds after a few washes.
Before the winter started, I also found this cute, reversible Eivissa cape (€19.99) with a pink and grey plaid print on the outside and a solid dark grey color on the inside, at TKMaxx in Rotterdam. The good thing about this cape is that the two rectangular flaps on the front side are heavy and long enough to keep the cape in place without tying it down. They suggested wearing this with a white turtleneck and a black pair of skinny jeans or leggings (very chic!), but I think this would also look nice over a tight fitting trench coat. It is made of a very pretty and soft fleece and I can wear this both indoors as well as outdoors.
