Review: banila co. The Great Love The Secret Face Blusher

I have finally gotten to the last product of the banila co. The Great Love F/W 2013 makeup collection that I had left to review, the banila co. The Great Love The Secret Face Blusher. It is the only blusher in this collection, so that's why there is no color code. To me, this is really the highlight of the collection, so I could not wait to try it out.

It is really hard to imagine how this blusher could be in the F/W collection with these pretty pastel colors.

Colors from left to right (names were translated by me):
- vanilla base
- soft peach
- classic salmon
- feminine pink

I didn't translate the names until after taking the pictures, so I didn't find out that you are supposed to use the light yellow color as a base. I initially thought that it was a highlighter, so that's how I used it in the pictures underneath. I also tried mixing all the colors, but you get a very strange orange color, so I don't think you can use a large kabuki brush to apply this blusher. Until now, I still don't know what you are supposed to use for application. I have used a wide eyeshadow brush, but maybe using fingers would be okay too.

Underneath you can see the three blush colors on my right cheek (left for you).

I deliberately only applied the blush and also the banila co. The Great Love single eyeshadow OR01 only on one side and not on the other side, in order for you to see the difference that they make. As you can see, I wasn't exaggerating, when I said that the eyeshadow had a really natural and instant brightening effect. I am also wearing the banila co. The Great Love Dual Tint Gloss PK01 on my lips. So it is a total "The Great Love" look. ^_^

One last picture with a close-up of me with the Classic Salmon blush and the Vanilla Base as a highlighter on the bridge of my nose and the eyebrow bones.

 My opinion

As you might have guessed from the picture above, I like the Classic Salmon color the most as it looks very natural on me, then soft peach, and the last place goes to Feminine Pink. The blush isn't very pigmented, as one swipe of the blush is almost invincible on the skin. For the swatches on my arm, I really needed to build up a lot of layers. But even though I used a lot of layers - just as with the eyeshadow -, you don't really see a thick layer on the skin (see close-up picture).

This product isn't really suitable for when you are in a hurry, as you really need to slowly build up the layers. But it might be great for people that tend to apply too much blush at once or beginners like me, since I could easily adjust the shape and intensity of the blush on my cheek, while applying the layers.

I normally don't wear blush very often, but I will make sure to wear this blusher a lot more during this summer. ^_^
