Review: Peripera My Color Gloss no. 13 - Cherry Pink

Remember the truckload of lip glosses that I bought in my 11th Gmarket order? From that pile, I picked out the Peripera lip gloss no.13 - Cherry Pink to try first. It is a relatively normal pink color that should appeal to many. It is also very wearable, no matter what skin tone you have. For people with fair skin, the pink is bright enough to bring out the pink from your face and for people with a darker skin tone and/or with pigmented lips, like me, it is dark enough to show up.

The swatch/drop of the lip gloss that Peripera provided isn't really accurate. The Peripera My Color Gloss no. 13 is a light pink lip gloss with sparkly, multicolor mini flecks. It also has a pretty blue/purple sheen, which you should be able to see better in the following picture.

When I look at the Peripera lip gloss tube, I really feel like a 12 year old again, waving my princess wand or magical fairy wand. It has a very beautiful, transparent, pink plastic cap with amazing details. The silver, metallic flower print adds a touch of luxury to the lip gloss. The cap is designed to mimic a piece of lace wrapped around a tube of sparkly pink lip gloss and the uneven, raffled ends make it extra realistic.

From the picture above, you can slightly see that the lip gloss has little bits of green, pink, and purple shimmers in it. To show you how pretty the shimmers are, I made some close-up pictures of swatches of the lip gloss.

Although you cannot really see it in the picture, you can actually see the green, purple, and fuchsia pink shimmers on the lips in real life. Most colored shimmers in lip glosses just look plain white/silvery from a distance, but it is amazing that I can actually distinguish the colors.
The shimmers are also really subtle, like firework, it is only shortly and partially visible when your lips move or if light hits the lips in a different way. I really like that it is so sparkly and shimmery, but still not as bad as a disco ball. It really doesn't look like you have dipped your lips in a pot of glitters. :) It is also very moisturizing on the lips. Perfect to solve my dry lips problem with.

The only problem that I have with this Peripera lip gloss, is that it has a lingering, floral, handcream-ish (I have never tasted hand cream though :P), taste. It is not that bad, but I have never had this with other lip glosses before. The Bourjois lip glosses that I have used in the past even have a sweet taste. I wonder if I gained calories from that. ^_^
