Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara (deluxe sample) review

I only had one review left before I could complete my reviews on everything in the Too Faced La Belle Carousel and it is on the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara. You can find a deluxe-size sample of it in the light green box. This is the only part of the Too Faced La Belle Carousel that isn't a booklet with a magnetic closure. The box is thicker than the booklets, which probably caused the carousel shape to not be perfectly fitted. There is a large gap at the righter bottom corner of this box, while the other booklets have less noticeable gaps in between.

Too Faced La Belle Carousel - Better Than Sex mascara review

I was a bit worried that the mini Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara would be difficult to take out, but luckily, I could move it down a bit right in the packaging and place my index finger above it to get it out. The Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara itself looks very beautiful (just as pretty as the box in comes in! ^_^). The matte, light pink metallic casing has very interesting purple-grey shadows.

Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara brush

I was quite surprised by the brush, as it has a strange hourglass like shape (as in: wide on top and bottom and narrow in the middle). I still don't know how to properly use it as I cannot really get to the corner parts of my eyes with this brush. Mainly the middle parts of my lashes get mascara on it. I am guessing that it has this shape to create a curl in the lashes and it really worked quite well in this area. You can see it in the pictures underneath.

You can find the eye makeup look that I have in the pictures in my review of the Too Faced La Belle Carousel - peach eyeshadow palette.

You can see the curl that the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara created the best in this picture underneath.

You might not find the curl very spectacular, but to me - who has straight lashes that almost seem to grow towards the ground normally - it is something to be amazed by. I especially made some before and after pictures for you to see the effect of the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara better.

In the pictures in the top row, you can see my "bare" lashes. In the pictures in the bottom row, I am wearing the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara.

What do I think?

I already have quite long lashes myself and the mascara made it look a bit longer (as the thinner ends of my lashes got covered with mascara) and it made the individual lashes more thick. It is not for you, if you are looking for a mascara that clumps the lashes together at the bottom of the lashes to create volume, as it rather is a mascara that separates very well. I am the most impressed by the curl that it creates.

I am not sure if I got a good sample, as there were already many small clumps stuck on the brush, even before I used it. I used a paper tissue to remove them from the brush and it made the mascara looked better on my lashes (proof: see the sneak peek picture of the Valentine's eye makeup look at the bottom of this blog post). So, everything I wrote might not apply to the full-size Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara.
