Review: Essie nail lacquer - cute as a button

The previous days were so hot in the Netherlands that I thought that it was already full on summer, but today, it has gotten so cold that I needed to wear pants again and fully cover my legs. To cheer myself up a bit, I am wearing this beautiful warm coral nail polish, the Essie nail lacquer - cute as a button. If you have been following my blog, it is one of my favorite nail colors for the summer. Here are some similar nail polishes that I had shown on my blog: Dior vernis 575 - Wonderland, pa nail polish A92, and the Sasatinnie mini nail polish SPR209.

I don't know if I got a bad bottle or that I still have the old formula (I bought this a long time ago), but the nail polish was very streaky and I couldn't get it to fully cover the nails even after three coats. You can still see some shadows on the nails. The color is very pretty though, so you might want to swatch it in the store first to see if the nail polish has a good coverage before you purchase it.

I was playing around with some gold nail polishes for my Kingsday 2016 nails and I decided on using the Etude House nail polish 02 - Flickering Light from the Etude House If Story nail kit 2, but the other nail polishes I tried out are worth a mention too.

I used the l'Oréal color riche 815 - ornemental gold (gold crackle top coat) on the nails of my index finger and thumb, the Etude House nail polish 02 - Flickering Light on the nail of my ring finger, and the NYC Crystal couture glitters nail polish 011 - Fashion Queen on the nails of the middle and pinky finger.
