林憶蓮 (Sandy Lam) - 至少還有你 (At least, I still have you)

When you feel sad about something, I have always felt that it was okay to drown yourself in self-pity. Not too long of course, but it's up to you to decide what is considered as too long. After crying to my heart's content, I have always felt a sense of relief and calmness. It is like I have released all the pain and sadness, until it has only become a distant memory. Society nowadays doesn't really allow you to show much emotions, so most people would probably have a hard time to just let go of all your restrictions and let yourself be overwhelmed by all of the emotions. To help you a hand, I want to share a song with you, which had helped me go through heartache and breakups.

I recently came across this song again on the Chinese TV show, Come sing with me, in which fans have the chance to sing a duet with their biggest idol (I think it is similar to the Korean show, Fantastic duo, which produced the amazing Taeyang duet). I was surprised to find myself crying, while remembering the memories of the past. The song is 至少還有你 (At least, I still have you), sung by 林憶蓮 (Sandy Lam). Sandy Lam is a Hong Kong singer, who had sung this song in Mandarin Chinese, and she had blown me away with all the emotions that she had put into it. The lyrics are amazing too. I think the song was released before my time, but my older cousin had put it among other songs on my newly bought MD-player (yes, I made the wrong gamble by picking MD over MP3) in Hong Kong years ago, so that I had something to listen to on the plane. I remember crying on the plane too, when I heard it for the first time (I am such a crybaby).
