Review: MAC Alluring Aquatic nail lacquer - Submerged

Last time, I held a little quiz to find out which of the three MAC Alluring Aquatic nail lacquers I bought and I hope most of you got it correct. You could have gotten some hints from two nail polishes that I have been craving for since last Summer: the Chanel Azure nail polish and the Innisfree nail polish no. 139. But it must have been tricky, since I change preferences very often. My favorite lip color is much easier to guess. ^-^

The packaging of this MAC nail lacquer is so beautiful that I made more pictures of it than of the actual nail polish on my nails. ^_^

In the front of the box, there is a large hole showing you the nail lacquer color that is inside. Not just on the front, but also on the sides and on the back can you find the pretty water drops. At first, I thought that they would be glue drops that could be easily scraped off, but they seem to part of a large foil that you cannot take off the box. The water drops are also flatter than I thought for something that looks so realistic.

I cannot stop looking at the water drops on the box from different angles. I think this is the first time that the ingredients list on a box looked so interesting. ^_^

This is the first MAC nail lacquer that I own and I quite like the brush as I have a preference for thinner brushes. The brush widens at the end and it has some thickness. I was able to paint one nail with just two strokes and I didn't make any mistakes. Different from what I am used to, I didn't need to wipe off too much excess off the brush before applying this nail polish. Putting a lot of nail polish straight on the nails seemed to get the best results. The consistency is on the watery side, but it is not too uncontrollably watery or goopy, just perfect!

In the pictures underneath, I have used two coats of the MAC nail lacquer - Submerged. The first coat can look a bit strangely and unevenly distributed, but the second coat makes everything looks great.

In daylight, it looks like a very beautiful, blue metallic nail polish, but at night, you can see the extremely fine, green shimmers better. The purple glow is very subtle and you mostly see it at the shadow parts of the nail and in certain angles. It lasted for one week and only after that, did I start to see minor tip wear. I didn't need to use a base coat or top coat for that.
