bread & co. shop in Jongno 3-ga metro station, Seoul
In the underground passage way near exit 14 of the Jongno 3-ga metro station, there is a small, bread & co. bakery shop. Since we stayed at the nearby hotel Venue-G, we passed by there almost every morning and in the evening, when we returned with the metro. Not only did we get breakfast there, we also often got something as (midnight) snacks.
The buns with red bean filling was tasty and the taste was as I expected similar to the Chinese version. The red beans filling wasn't too sweet, which I like, and full of red bean flavor.

The walnut buns, which looks similar to the Hong Kong pineapple bun and the Japanese melon pan, have a crunchy butter crust with a hint of walnut. It is unlike anything else I have tried and I like how it also doesn't have too much sugar in it. The walnut buns don't have a filling, but the bread is airier than the one of the red bean buns.

The choux cream donut is covered with a chocolate sauce and walnut bits and it has a choux cream filling on top, which is kept in place with a thin plastic film. I forgot to take a picture of the berry jam donut, but it basically the same donut, but covered with caster sugar and filled with a glossy berry jam.
I also discovered that they sold mochi with a red bean-walnut filling for 1,000 won each. The mochi was large and chewy. I really loved the texture of the mochi and the not too sweet, red bean filling. If you ask me to choose between the red bean bun and the red bean mochi, I would take the red bean mochi.
Overall, the quality of all the bakery goods that I tried from bread & co. were great, even if they were discounted. Compared to some of the Chinese bakeries that I tried, it is in the higher rankings.

Regularly, they have discounted bread and sweets for only 1,000 won.
Some can be found on the bakery shop counter and some are displayed on a separate table.
Underneath, you can see the wrapped red bean buns and walnut buns that we bought for only 1,000 won each on our first visit.
