Review: Etude House Dear Darling tint RD307 and PK005

I know that I am very late with this review, as it was released last summer and there was even a Fall/Winter version last year. But I have been through a lot of things, old memories came back, I got therapy, and I found the courage to share my story with the people who needed to hear it. During all that, beauty was one of the last things on my mind.

I started to feel better, after my trip to Hong Kong and South-Korea. Hong Kong has always been like my second home and a change of scenery helped put things in perspective. I also shopped at an actual Etude House store for the very first time. I wanted to do that for a long time already, as I could only buy their products online. The pink interior and exterior really made me feel like a princess. One of the things on my Etude House wish list at the time was the Etude House Dear Darling tint, as the popsicle shaped bottles were too cute to resist. It was however a harder task than I thought to track them down. Most Etude House stores and counters in South-Korea didn't have any in stock or just in a giftset with all the colors. I already gave up on them, until I spotted an Etude House shop in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong. There were only a few colors left, but I was able to get two of my favorite colors, based on the released Etude House swatches.

What do I think?

Color: The RD307 watermelon red color has a bright red color, which looked great with my skin tone. It can be a bit too red for day to day, so maybe better for a night out. The PK005 peach pink color has a my-lips-but-better pink color, which is great for normal days. It is very subtle and natural looking, but still with a lot of cuteness to it.

Application: It applies easily, as the popsicle stick is just the right size for my thumb and index finger to hold onto, the applicator tip is slanted 45 degrees, and the lip tint spreads out like a charm.

Lip tint: One thin coat is enough for a good color on the lips. It applies glossy and becomes a matt tint over time. I don't feel I have anything on my lips at all. When I apply a thin coat, my dry lips stay relatively moisturized. Only when I apply a bit too much, it can get a bit dry and needing a layer of lip balm on top. You do have to re-apply every once in a while to keep the color fresh, but the lip tint bottle is very small and light - and super cute! -, so that shouldn't be a problem.

Scent: The scents of the two lip tints seem to be very similar to me. I think that it is watermelon scented, but it smells more like a purple grape candy to me. I really like that scent and it is also great that you only get a small sniff of it during application and you don't smell or taste it afterwards. It is a great pick-me-up in the mornings and when you feel down or tired during the day.

Side note: I hope that Typhoon Mangkhut won't affect Hong Kong and the surrounding places too much.
