Review: Etude House nail polish DPP504 and Peripera WH806

But first a bit about the base color.
I used the Etude House nail polish DPP504 - Bye Violet from my 10th Gmarket order. This nail polish and the Etude House DGR703 - Mink Mint, are my favorites from the new additions to the Etude House Dear my deep color range. It really did not disappoint me. This is a very beautiful dark lavender nail polish. It somewhat reminds me of purple chocolate Smarties. My camera had some trouble capturing the color and it leaned a bit to the blue side in the pictures. The first picture is the closest to the original color as you see it.
Now, let's look at how the Peripera nail polish WH806 - Winter Berry is like on top.
This special edition Christmas nail polish has white, matte squares, red, metallic squares, very narrow white bar glitters in a transparent base with shimmery glitters. The bar glitters seems to be half the width of a normal bar glitter and this really helps in placing the glitters on the nails properly. But on the other hand, the bar glitters do not stick to the nails as good due to the smaller surface. It is recommended to use a top coat. For the pictures, I did not use it, but it would probably bring the glitters out more and make the nails look more sparkly.
It was quite difficult finding the right base color to match with this nail polish and I am not really satisfied with how it looks with purple. I still need to do more experimenting. It helps that I now have nail polish display wheels, so that I can just place a swatch of this nail polish on top of false nails with other nail colors and see how it looks.
