Review: Etude House nail polish WH901 - Cotton candy kiss

Two days ago, I have already shown you a small teaser of the Etude House 2013 Summer Glitters nail polishes. I discovered some interesting, newly released makeup products, so I had to write about them first. There was also another reason why it took me so long to complete the reviews, but you will find out soon.

I decided to review the nail polish that I anticipated the most first.

Review: Etude House nail polish WH901 - Cotton candy kiss

The Etude House nail polish WH901 - Cotton candy kiss has matte glitters in pastel blue, pastel yellow, pastel pink, and white. In the transparent base, there are also some very small, holographic shimmers. Unlike what I first thought (I was so sure I saw some yellow stars in the promotional pictures o_o), the glitters are mainly heart-shaped, hexagonal, and diamond shaped (aka rhombus shaped).

Now we get to the reason why it took me so long to review these Etude House 2013 Summer Glitters nail polishes. The consistency of the clear base is very goopy and it is making it very difficult for me to spread the glitters evenly and to get a smooth surface. The uneven surface and the reflection from it made it impossible for me to take some decent pictures of my nails. I even attempted to smoothen it a bit with the Skinfood top coat, but I think that it caused the small bubbles in the clear base. In the end, I had to take the pictures three times and even at the third time, it didn't look right. All I can do, is to just pick out the best pictures from the dozens of pictures that I had taken.

I was all exited to try out the nail art ideas from the promotional pictures of the A'pieu Flower garden nail limited sets, but the goopy consistency and the glitters that dragged a bit of the base color nail polish with them, when I tried to move them on the nails, made it less fun for me. It is the first time, I had such an issue with the Etude House nail polishes and I own quite a few of Etude House glitter nail polishes.

At least, I now know that it is better to just take out the glitters one by one and place them on the nails where you want them with your fingers (or better with tweezers) instead of using the nail polish brush.
