Etude House xoxo Minnie nail polish 03 - White Minnie review

After the two gel nail polishes (Etude House xoxo Minnie nail polish 01 - Minnie Red and Etude House xoxo Minnie nail polish 02 - Bubble Pink), I have finally gotten to the glitter nail polishes. There are 4 glitter nail polishes in the Etude House xoxo Minnie collection and I will first start with the nail polish 03 - White Minnie. The name isn't the most creative, as it only refers to the white Minnie glitters in the nail polish.

The Etude House xoxo Minnie nail polish 03 - White Minnie contains the aforementioned white Minnie glitters, white polka-dot glitters, pink bar glitters, pink hexagons (in various sizes), and some translucent, pink/orange squared glitters, suspended in a clear base with fine silver shimmers. To make the various components more visible, I applied it over the purple nail polish from the claire's 6 pack pastel mini nail polishes. I quite like how it turned out. ^_^

I have already tried all 4 glitter nail polishes and they all have the same thick, gooey base that helps smooth the nail polish that is underneath. So even when you haven't applied the nail polish that goes underneath very neatly, small smudges will be flattened a bit by it. The drying time is also relatively short. But the problem with this kind of base is that when you apply the nail polish, you could "drag" the layer of nail polish underneath. I know it very well, since I have many top coats that also work this way. It is therefore best to softly dab this glitter nail polish on the nails. Also, apply a good top coat as it dries to a somewhat matte finish and to seal the large glitters that can easily come off.

With this particular nail polish, I had the most problems with distributing the glitters evenly. A lot of glitters come out at once, so you have to apply very thin layers to get the best results. But the good thing about this complexity of glitters is that almost every area on you nails is covered - no large bald spots -, making it very suitable to wear on its own too.

Somehow I have cropped this picture so much that it looks very similar to the one more above. ^_^

In short: the formula of the Etude House xoxo Minnie glitter nail polishes isn't the best out there, but the cute glitters kind of make up for it. I think it might have been a better idea to get the loose Etude House xoxo Minnie nail glitters and combine them with the top coat that you prefer.
