It's skin Macaron Lip Balms review
If you just look at the pictures - without reading the title- , you might think that this post is about some delicious macarons that I had for dessert. They may look deceivingly delicious, but these are really the plastic packaging of lip balms. It's skin, a Korean skincare and cosmetics brand, had created lip balms with a macaron exterior in four flavors: Strawberry (pink), Green apple (green), Grape (purple), and Pineapple (yellow). I already had an It's skin macaron lip balm with the green apple flavor, which I bought in my 4th Gmarket order. And recently, I bought the rest of the lip balms in my 9th Gmarket order.
The green apple one smells like green apple candy and you taste it a bit too. So at times when you are craving for candy, you can just put some lip balm on your lips. It is a zero calories treat. ^_^ The pink one smells like sweet strawberry candy with a bit of a sour note in there. Now that I mention it, all the fruit flavors are actually fruits that taste sweet, but have a bit of sourness to them. The purple lip balm smells like grape candy and this one has the sweetest smell of the four. The yellow lip balm has a very faint pineapple smell, but it could also be that it somehow has turned bad. This is quite disappointing, because I was expecting the most from the pineapple one. I like to drink pineapple juice during vacations and by putting the pineapple lip balm on my lips, it would have given me a bit of a relaxing vacation feeling during stressful times.
What do I think?
At first, I used a lip brush to apply the lip balm and I did not think that the lip balm was that good. The lip balm is quite hard, so I was getting too little product on the brush. After using my finger - you cannot be too hygienic sometimes-, the results were much better. The body heat from my finger made the lip balm melt a bit and that made the application smoother too. My lips stay glossy and moisturized for quite a while. I could also find some very fine shimmers in the lip balm.The green apple one smells like green apple candy and you taste it a bit too.
