Etude House Sweet Recipe Dear My Jelly Lips JOR203 review

Today's review is about the Dear My Jelly Lips JOR203 from the very cute Etude House Sweet Recipe collection. As you might have seen in my Gmarket order 11 and 12 post, I bought 4 colors of these jelly lipsticks. I will first start with the Dear My Jelly Lips JOR203, because this is the one that I wanted to try the most. It is the lipstick with the most color pay off and it should be able to cover my naturally, dark lip color. Based on the promotional pictures that you can also find in my "Etude House Sweet Recipe" post, I actually thought that this would be a dark orange lipstick with some red tones in it, but I was surprised to see this bright red bullet.

The lipstick bullet looks very similar to a shiny, waxy candle, but the application is as smooth as butter. ^_^

 Swatched on my arm

The strange thing was that the color turned out to be orange, when I swatched it on my arm. On the left, I applied one coat of lipstick (very sheer) and on the right, it is about three coats. The color can be build up nicely if you want more color. I really like the smell and the texture of these Etude House Dear My Jelly Lips lipsticks. It smells like the sweet and sour strawberry candy belts that I totally love, when I was a child. It can really stop any candy cravings during the day. The lipstick also feels really comfortable on the lips. It is similar to a glossy lip balm. I really dislike the heavy feeling and visible thick layer that normal lipsticks create on the lips, so this is a total plus to me.

 Applied on the lips

After applying one layer of lipstick on my lips, I felt like I couldn't really notice the color, so I went over my lips a few more times. This is how it looked like afterwards. You can still notice some visible patches of lipstick (and some dry skin as I didn't exfoliate beforehand :) ), because I took the pictures immediately after application. But don't worry, it sinks in and evens out later on.

After waiting 5 minutes

This is how my lips looked like after about 5 minutes. Amazingly, it has blended with my lip color or something, because it turned into a strawberry pink and also a bit similar to the color of blood orange juice. It kind of resembles the Peripera Wonder Talk Lip Balm number 6 that I have reviewed before, but this lipstick has more red tones than pink tones.

I think I have just found myself a flattering red lipstick. ^_^

It looks like a soft red lipstick with a bit of glossiness on me. It is amazing how it does not make me look sickly pale. I don't own that many red-toned lipsticks that have this effect on me.
After a hour or so:
The glossiness of the lipstick has disappeared, but a pretty red tint remains on the lips. Even if you forget to touch up, the lip color still looks very nice. You know, the swatch I made on my arm just above, you could still see the stain the next day. ^_^
