Review: Laura Mercier Lip Glacé - Blush (sample)

The Laura Mercier Lip Glacé - Blush is the third lip product that I am reviewing from the Sephora Favorites - Give Me More Lip set that I got last Christmas. It is in a sample size (2.8 g), but the packaging is just as luxurious as the full-size. Apparently, there are also Laura Mercier Lip Glacé sets with 5 mini's. It is certainly something to keep in mind, as I really love the small size that can fit in the smallest clutch. It also doesn't lose in terms of luxuriousness and easy-to-use.

Laura Mercier Lip Glacé - Blush (sample) review, swatches, and full face

The doe foot applicator is hard and not flexible, but it applies great regardless. It picks up quite a good amount of product too. When I swatched it on my arm, it looked a bit sheer, but it had a great coverage on my lips. The subtle shimmers are also barely visible on the lips, but it does add an extra dimension to the shine. The lip gloss has a very warm vanilla scent that reminds me of vanilla cupcakes, but it doesn't linger on the lips very long.

What do I think?

When I tried the Laura Mercier Lip Glacé - Blush for the first time, it was a bit hard to spread and very sticky. I am not sure if it's because of the cold weather here in the Netherlands, but when I used it again a few months later, it was a lot easier to spread and not too sticky. It doesn't feel heavy or sticky on the lips when your lips are resting, but they can stick a little bit when they rub against each other. I think that they feel quite comfortable on the lips, I barely know that I have something on my lips.

Compared to the stila stay all day vinyl lip gloss - nude vinyl, the Laura Mercier Lip Glacé - Blush is little bit sheerer and a light pink shade with a brown undertone rather than an opaque warm pink. It also isn't very long-lasting (most of the color goes away after one meal or drink, leaving a light sheen), as it is more a lip gloss than a lip lacquer. But I really like how natural it looks on the lips, so I don't mind touching up every now and then. Moreover, it doesn't fade in an ugly way, so even if you forget to touch up, you will never look like a clown. I also notice that my lips look fuller and they are more moisturized. I am definitely interested in trying out other shades of the Laura Mercier Lip Glacé.
