Review: MUA (makeup academy) eyeshadow palette - Spring Break
MUA (makeup academy) has finally hit the stores here in the Netherlands last year and although I was really curious about their makeup, I have never seen them in the Kruidvat drugstores in Rotterdam city center before. My first introduction to them has been long overdue, but I now have 4 MUA products that will be reviewed on my blog soon. Starting with the one that that looked the most intriguing, the MUA eyeshadow palette - Spring Break.
I will start with the swatches of the 6 eye shadows on the left: Refine, Cherub, Amber, Aurora, Bronze Blush, and Catacomb.
Refine is a matte brown shade, which is great for nude looks.
Cherub is a metallic pink shade with a lot of silver shimmers.
Amber is a beautiful bronze gold shade.
Aurora is a white highlighter shade with a yellow glow.
Bronze Blush is a metallic dark brown shade with silver shimmers.
Catacomb is a metallic light brown shade that reminds me of the Max Factor Excess Shimmer - Copper eyeshadow.
Spearmint is a normal metallic white shade, which is often used as highlighter.
Posy is a satin-finish dark pink shade.
Sorrel is a satin-finish dark brown shade.
Sea Foam is a highlighter shade with a turquoise glow and to me, it is the star of this eyeshadow palette.
Gold Khaki is a khaki shade with a subtle gold glow. It looks a bit like the Khaki Gray shade in the Clio All That Eye Styler Kit 1, but then without the dark grey undertone.
Damson is a smokey purple shade with a metallic sheen.
As I wrote before, I love the Sea Foam shade the most, so I decided to create a makeup look with it. I used this highlighter shade with a turquoise glow in the inner eye corners and I applied the Amber shade on the rest of the eyelid. I quite like the makeup look (subtle, but still with an eye-catching detail). However, if you want the turquoise color to be more visible, you can build the color up more. I already applied it 3-4 times in the pictures (Can you imagine how long it took for the swatch on the arm?). What I have on my lips, I will reveal in a separate review. I like it so much that it deserves a full review. ^_^ (Find the review here)
You can find a picture of the eye shadow Cherub on my eyelids in this review.
Although some shades are a bit crumbly and not as pigmented, I think the shades in this eyeshadow palette are quite versatile. If you don't have most of them in your stash yet (as some are really staple eyeshadow shades), this eyeshadow palette is quite nice to have.

What do I think?
I was a bit surprised that the MUA eyeshadow palette - Spring Break is a spring or summer eyeshadow palette as there are mainly warm and dark shades in it, with the only exceptions being the light pink and light turquoise shades. But I guess, the best Spring Break parties are at night. ^_^Although some shades are a bit crumbly and not as pigmented, I think the shades in this eyeshadow palette are quite versatile. If you don't have most of them in your stash yet (as some are really staple eyeshadow shades), this eyeshadow palette is quite nice to have.
