Video of Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan
I made some short video clips of the sea creatures in various water tanks of the Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan and combined them in the video underneath. You get to see giant rays, the strange mola mola aka ocean sunfish (a fish with a seemingly chewed off body, missing a tail), the
Pacific white sided dolphins (baby & mom swimming together), a guitar fish (mix between ray and shark),
hammer shark, saw sharks, a black-tip shark (which reminds me a bit of the ears of Pikachu), a large school of sardines, many colorful jelly
fish, and even a large ray carrying a fish on his back!
I feel a bit sorry about the bad quality, as the camera I used 7 years ago wasn't that good in the dark. The water tanks in the Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan were mostly dimly lit, as some of the fish living in the deep sea might not like bright lights. That's also why it is forbidden to take pictures or videos of certain water tanks (look for the signs!). I think it is because they are scared that the light on the video camera or the flash of the photo camera might disturb the fish. Some fish are more sensitive than others.
If you missed it, here are the articles that I previously wrote about various animals that you can find in the Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan:
- Part 1: Asian small clawed otter and bright red, Japanese freshwater crab from the Japan forest area, sea otters from the Aleutian islands area, and California sea lions and harbor seal from the Monterey Bay area.
- Part 2: Adelie penguins and King penguins from the Antarctica area, Whale shark, manta rays, mola mola, and sharks from the Pacific ocean area, Pacific white sided dolphins from the Tasman sea, and the cute Finless porpoise.
- Part 3: Colorful coral and tropical fish from the Great barrier reef area, Giant spider crabs from the Japan deeps area, colorful Jelly fish from the Floating jellyfish area, and clown fish in aquariums near the exit.
