Kitkat Senses: hazelnut, salted caramel, and double chocolate

When I am feeling a little down and low on energy, the first thing that comes to my mind is chocolate. I restrict myself to a small cube of dark chocolate a day, but sometimes, I switch that up with something new. KitKat introduced the KitKat Senses in the Netherlands lately and I was really curious about it.

The KitKat Senses comes in a decorative party box, which opens beautifully and it contains 20 pieces. You can choose for a box with one flavor (all salted caramel) or a box with three different flavors (hazelnut, salted caramel, and double chocolate). It is great for parties or as birthdays treats at work. In the Netherlands, it is custom to bring cake or other sweet treats to work for your colleagues and sometimes, it is possible to have a slice of birthday cake 2-3 times a week. It can be a nightmare for people, who are watching their weight. With this, people can accept your nice gesture and eat it with their cup of coffee, keep it for their cheat day, or make someone else happy with it, like their kids or their kind and helpful neighbor.

What do I think?

The KitKat Senses look like a shorter and thicker version of the original KitKat. They taste really similar too, except for the bigger cream filling in the top part. I like the salted caramel flavor the most, as the flavor is strong enough to distinguish from the chocolate flavor coming from the rest of the KitKat Senses bar. There are also interesting salted flakes in the caramel filling. The Hazelnut flavor has a hazelnut praline filling that has a few, crunchy pieces of hazelnut. The hazelnut flavor isn't really strong, a bit similar to Nutella. The Double chocolate flavor has a chocolate ganache filling with crunchy chocolate nibs. It tasted similar to a creamy chocolate filling with oreo cookie crumbs.
