Makeup look: smokey eyes and nude lips
As announced in my NYC Expert Last Lip Lacquers review, I will try to post a different makeup look for each NYC Expert Last lip lacquer that I own. Today's makeup look is one with simple smokey eyes and nude lips.
It was the first time I had worn smokey eye makeup as I always feared that it would emphasize my heavy eye bags (from lack of sleep >_<), but it worked out surprisingly well. I would have also never had bought a nude lip product as I have very dry lips and it is hard to find the right nude color for my skin tone. But it is not as bad as I thought, I can wear nude lip products after all. The NYC Expert Last lip lacquer in the color 100 - Bare Brooklyn has a slight pink undertone, which makes it look better on me than most of the lip concealers that I have tried. However, it doesn't totally cover my pigmented lips and it doesn't look so pretty on dry lips. From up close, the dry lines are quite visible, but it looks quite good from afar. I guess, I have to keep everybody at a meter distance. ^_^
For my eye makeup, I used the Clio All That Eye Styler Kit 2 - Walk On The City. From that eyeshadow palette, I first lightly padded the color Matt Black all over my eyelid and used it as a smudged eyeliner on the outer half of my bottom lashes, and then, I used the color Night Navy as an eyeliner for a hint of color.
This is a simple smokey eyes and nude lips makeup look that can be easily worn on a normal day. I am quite satisfied with this makeup look and I am sure to wear a smokey eye makeup look more often.
