Pinchos and drinks in Barcelona, Spain
Having pinchos and drinks is part of Barcelona's nightlife and it seemed like fun to do, so we headed out to pinchos bar, La Tasqueta de Blai, one evening. It was the first time we went out that late, as we like to kick back and relax at home, after a whole day of sightseeing. We cannot help it, as we are all natural born homebodies. From Parallel metro station, it was quite a long walk before we reached the place. But just seeing the endless rows of different kinds of pinchos made everything worthwhile.
The food and drinks were quite affordable too: beer (€2 for 0.3 ml), big glass of sangria (€3.60), pinchos with normal toothpick (€1) and pinchos with red toothpick (€1.80). In total, the four of us ordered 17 normal pinchos and 10 special, red toothpick pinchos. The bill was €47.80 and it was about €12 per person. It was our dinner, so it wasn't that bad. The sangria also had less alcohol than the first time we drank sangria at La Fonda, so we had a nice time without getting drunk. I liked the pinchos with crunchy and fried toppings the most, but some were a bit cold. It is best to wait and get the freshly made ones, as they frequently replace the pinchos on the bar with new ones.
La Tasqueta de Blai is not the best place to go when you are really hungry (like us :) ), as the bill can rack up, but it is a very affordable place to have drinks and a large variety of snacks.
