Easter 2019 treats
It is a bit late, but I still want to share what kind of sweet treats I had during Easter. I think this is one of the rare years that I didn't buy any chocolate Easter eggs (the ones wrapped in metallic foil). It may have something to do with the fact that I got a terrible cough that has lasted to this day. I have been drinking a lot of cough syrup, but this dry cough just doesn't want to go away. It has become a bit better the last couple of days and I hope I will get better after a good rest over the weekend.
First, we have this Lemon drizzle cake with chocolate curls and a dark chocolate decoration with a bunny and "Happy Easter" in Dutch on it. The lemon drizzle is a bit too sweet for me, but the lemon flavor is reasonably strong. I also like the soft and moist cake. It tasted great with some slightly sour strawberries.
As I mentioned before, I didn't get any chocolate Easter eggs, but I did receive a small bag of speckled M&M's Easter eggs. The chocolates almost gave me inspiration to create an Easter themed nail art, but I was feeling too sick to hold a nail polish brush. Although coughing wildly during the application of nail polish could get interesting too.
I also bought these cute Easter donuts from the Lidl supermarket. The colorful flower sprinkles on top are made of hard, crunchy sugar and they create a nice contrast with the soft donut. The look of these also makes me want to create nail art.
