Official Etude House Global online shop

Exciting news, everybody! Etude House has finally listened to our endless demands and it is going to launch their online shop with global shipping, while it used to only ship locally in South-Korea. The official launch will be on 1 October 2014, but the Etude House Global online shop website can already be visited.

I have browsed around a bit and the prices of the Etude House products are all really close to the retail price, but it is the international shipping costs that you will have to worry about. I tried ordering an Etude House Play 101 pencil (I still don't own one!) and for that one small item of $6, the international shipping costs to the Netherlands is $8.47 for standard small packet shipping (delivered within 15-20 working days) and $23.20 for premium expedited shipping with EMS (delivered in 3-7 working days). But be aware that only orders with products with a combined weight below 2 kg are eligible for standard shipping.

The shipping costs will automatically be calculated at the shopping cart page, so you won't get unexpectedly high costs afterwards, like with Gmarket. But from first glance at the EMS shipping costs table, the costs are about 20% higher than what I was used to at Gmarket. However, the Etude House Global online shop does not charge you shipping costs for the packaging and freebies, so you only pay for the shipping costs based on the weight of the Etude House products that you order. The large and sturdy EMS boxes and thick layers of bubble wrap can weigh a lot, so I am not sure with which, you will actually be cheaper off.

It is nice that you get a tracking number no matter which shipping method you choose (standard or expedited). You are also able to pay with most international credit cards and with Paypal. With each order, you also get reward points. In the past, I had spend so much on Etude House products that I could have easily become a Royal Pink member. ^_^ Depending on the membership level (Pink or Royal Pink), you get 3 or 5 points per every $1 you spend and 100 points equals $1. You can exchange your points only per 100 and starting from 300. When you have enough points, you need to email them to exchange the points for a gift certificate that you can spend in the online shop again.

Just by registering, you already get 100 points to start with and with your purchase, you now get a free sheet mask. There is also 50% discount on the Etude house hand creams.

Depending on the discounts and the freebies on the official launch, I might try to make a small order on the official Etude House Global online shop soon.
